If you’re looking to make some DIY decor for this 4th of July or for a Captain America themed party try with this easy round coaster Inspired on the USA flag.
YARN: Crochet thread size 5 in white, blue and red (I
recommend this yarn)
YARDAGE / GRAMS: Less than 20g of each
HOOK: 2.25 mm (B/1) crochet hook
GAUGE: 33 dc and 15 rows= 4 inches / 10 cm
Used stitches and abbreviations:
ch: chain st: stitch sc: single crochet dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet sl st: slip stitch
PATTERN
With the white yarn make a magic ring.
RND 1: Ch 1. 10 sc into the ring. Close the ring. Sl st in the first sc (not in the first ch but in the sc)._ 10 st
RND 3: Ch 1. (1 sc in each one of the next 3 st, 2 sc in the next st) repeat 4 times. Sl st in the first sc (not in the first ch but in the sc)._ 25 st
RND 4: Ch 1. 1 sc at the very first st. (1 hdc, 1 dc) in the next st. 1 tr in the next st. (1 dc, 1 hdc) in the next st. 1 sc in the next st (PICTURE 1). Ch 1. [ 1 sc in the next st. (1 hdc, 1 dc) in the next st. 1 tr in the next st. (1 dc, 1 hdc) in the next st. 1 sc in the next st, ch 1] repeat [] 3 times. Sl st in the first sc. _ 45 st
Attach the blue yarn to any of the 1-ch spaces between sc (PICTURE 2)
RND 5:
Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 2 tr in that same space, sc in the next point of
the star taking just the back loop. [(2tr, 2,dc, 2 tr) in the next
1-ch space, sc in the next point of the star taking only the back loop]
repeat [] 3 times. (2 tr, 1 dc) in the next 1-ch space. Sl st in the 3rd
ch of the first dc. _ 35 st
RND 6: Ch 3 (counts as a dc), (2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the

Change to color red
RND 7: Ch 3 (counts as a dc). (Dc in the next 2 st, 2 dc in the

Change to color white
